Publishing a research in a peer-reviewed journal is the obvious goal of most authors. Unpublished research is like writing on sand; therefore it is through publication that your research reaches others thus encouraging communication, discussion and collaboration between researchers with similar research goals. Peer review can be a lengthy and exhausting process but the ultimate publication of your manuscript effectively validates your work. This aspect is the prime aim of Pakistan Orthodontic Journal.
I have noticed that one of the most important but least understood aspects of the publication process is the choice of a suitable journal. Submitting a manuscript to an unsuitable journal is one of the most common mistakes made by authors. Many authors’ especially first timers may not be familiar with all the journals in their particular field of interest. I would like to emphasize here that POJ is a peer reviewed Orthodontic journal and allied fields which may be of interest for its readers. In many years of its publication it makes me proud that for the first time POJ has received research work which in my opinion will be interesting for its readers from allied fields. Hence scope of POJ is broader than just pure orthodontic research. Any research work from allied fields which will interest orthodontic readers will be welcomed by POJ.
I am pleased and thankful to all the authors who have chosen POJ for their publication. I also take this opportunity to encourage more research work in allied fields to be published in POJ.
